Membership

Currently we have a membership of around 750. Annual membership fees are £17 per person or £30 for two people at the same address, and are payable in March. Because of our size and popularity, we can only admit new members who live within our catchment area and who do not already belong to another U3A.

We offer over 60 groups covering a wide variety of both educational and social activities, which are co-ordinated by Pat, our Groups Co-Ordinator. However, we are always open to fresh ideas on possible new groups and will consider offering membership to anyone if they are able to start and run a viable group or are willing to join our Committee. Please e-mail Pat: pat@efu3a.org.uk

We have a monthly newsletter which is free to all members and provides information on the various groups, outings and holidays, together with articles, poems, snippets of information etc provided by members. It will also keep you up to date on everything you need to know regarding your Committee or EFU3A.

We hold a monthly meeting which is open to all members and is held on the first Monday of each month (unless this falls on a bank holiday, in which case it is held the following Monday). These meetings are held in Theydon Bois Village Hall, commencing at 10.30 am and where newsletters can be collected. (Newsletters not personally collected are sent to members by post.) Details of outings, activities, etc., are advertised and can be booked at these meetings.

We have a visiting speaker at each meeting covering a wide variety of topics, which proves very popular. You can also meet the members of the Committee.

Our AGM is held in November and again is open to all members.

For more information on joining EFU3A please email Carol, our Chairman: carol@efu3a.org.uk
